Hi, my name is Ryan Vroegindewey. I’m a photographer based in East Lansing, Michigan. My passion for photography was sparked in a high school art class, found its rhythm in West Africa, and in recent years has simultaneously grown in two exciting directions. 

For the Romantics

I’ve had the privilege of shooting over a dozen weddings, engagements, and family portraits, and I would love to help celebrate your love. My photography style can be described as personal and artful documentation. Packaging is affordable and flexible: weddings start at $800, and engagement (and other portrait) shoots start at $200. 

For Development Organizations & Researchers

I have worked overseas with multiple projects and development organizations, including the U.S. Peace Corps and the U.S. Agency for International Development, who have used my images for reporting and promotional materials. My images have also been featured in five international exhibitions, and two books. In 2015 I completed a M.S. in Agricultural, Food, and Resource Economics from Michigan State University, and am currently working on a PhD. As a researcher my focus has been understanding agricultural and food systems (here's a link to my research site), and I am constantly exploring ways to integrate photography into the design and presentation of research.
